AQ Courses for Teachers

The Upper Grand District School Board is proud to share that we are now accredited by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) to offer Additional Qualification (AQ) courses. 

These courses will be designed to empower educators in their pursuit of continuous professional growth. These courses will provide teachers with opportunities to deepen their expertise, acquire new skills, and stay current with the latest educational research and best practices. 

Course Offerings

Beginning in Summer 2025, UGDSB teachers will be able to access Reading Part 1 and Math Part 1 AQ courses through the UGDSB.  Stay tuned for more information as courses become available.

This platform is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of educators by providing access to a wide range of opportunities, including the chance to contribute as course writers and instructors. Our goal is to create a dynamic, collaborative space where educational professionals can engage in continuous learning, share their expertise, and help shape the future of teaching and learning within our school board.

Course Writers

As a course writer with the Upper Grand District School Board, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-quality professional development courses that align with our district’s educational goals. We are looking for educators with a deep understanding of curriculum standards, a passion for innovative teaching practices, and the ability to translate complex concepts into engaging and accessible content. Your work will directly impact the professional growth of teachers across the district, helping them to enhance their skills and improve student outcomes. 

We are currently seeking talented and dedicated individuals to join our team of Additional Qualification Course Writers to develop high-quality course and learning materials for our staff.

Course Instructors

Course instructors for Upper Grand District School Board’s AQ courses, will be at the forefront of delivering transformative learning experiences to fellow educators. We are seeking dynamic and experienced teachers who excel in engaging and inspiring others, with a strong commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning. As an instructor, you will guide participants through the course material, facilitate meaningful discussions, and provide support as they implement new strategies in their classrooms.
